Buenos Aires has many urban problems due to its huge population density and population in general. The main ones are how to guide the urban growth, how to provide affordable housing for everyone and how to improve the quality of public services. Urban growth has been rapid, with an escalation of over 6 million people in the last 50 years. Obviously, managing the rising population will be a challenge, as new accommodation, public services and public transport will need to be built. Of course, with a rising population, the slums where very poor people live will fill up. This will make crime rates skyrocket. Car theft will be common, and you may have to have your car parked in a secure underground car park if you want to visit. Back alleyways will be hotspots for underground drug deals and muggings, especially in a relatively poor country like Argentina. Public transport will also need to be refined, as all public transport services are owned by different governments. The national government is in charge of the rail system, the bus system is owned by the provincial government and the underground system is owned by the local government. Because of this, no public transport policy can be developed.
